			*I'm probably not the better qualified to talk about this.
			I just put some overviews (some may be false) and links.

			The problem is that the word Raster is over used in Demoscene but may have a bit different scientific definition.

			The coloured horizontal bars are called rasters...but this is only a little use of rasters.

			Also what is the difference between rasters and split rasters ? this is not always clear in my mind.

In programation, the raster is often referred as the act to modify the setting of inks between 2 scanlines.
